EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU NEEDS TO READ THIS. I MEAN IT.

It has some religious overtones, but you can ignore them and look at the overall picture the author is talking about. I’m religious, but tend to not connect with that in my day to day life, so that’s what I did. We ALL need to remember the general message being expressed here.

  1. Love it! It’s so important to not take for granted the time we have now. I remember “waiting” for my life to begin, and so much time was wasted not enjoying TODAY.

  2. You are so bossy. And this is really great, especially for us. You feel like your entire life is waiting for pregnancy or a baby and when it doesn’t come, your life still can’t begin. It’s a nice reminder.

  3. This was so perfect. I had chills reading it. Especially this part: “We expected to feel settled, not restless. We expected to have answers, not more questions. Instead, we find the messy, ordinary grind of everyday life.” That’s me to a ‘T’ – I thought being an adult meant I wouldn’t feel anxious or unsettled anymore – but I still do and that’s okay.

    Thanks for posting this.

  4. Reblogged this on expecting to be expecting and commented:
Had to re-post this. Sometime in the last 6-8 to months I stopped living in the ‘now’ or as now as most people can be, and started living entirely in a strange hybrid of the past and a longed for future: motherhood.

I put away all my favourites things that give me joy. I sidelined myself. Occasionally I tried to crawl back out to my old self, but I had lost touch and it didn’t feel genuine – I really felt a million miles away from ‘me’. As if I was wandering around in my own head. But I still couldn’t articulate what was wrong – all I thought I knew was that if I FINALLY got pregnant and kept a pregnancy I could start living again.

    From the blog post: ”

If we believe this is a waiting period, we will act like this is a waiting period

In short, we will waste it.”

    So true.
